20 Scality’s leaders have created Le Club to recognize and reward team members selected each year for their exceptional contribution to the company. Together with this acknowledgment, Le Club members are also offered the opportunity of taking a trip together, to rest and enjoy the Scality spirit outside the workplace. For the year 2017, 20 employees have been chosen. Scality will publish a profile of a different team member every other week. Meet Alexis Wedrychowski “I hate routine, I need action all the time, meeting new people, living new experiences and starting new projects.” Alexis Wedrychowski is contagiously enthusiastic he is always up for doing things, so at Scality, he feels totally at home. As a sales engineer, Alexis gets all the diversity and the challenges he needs, enjoying dealing with lots of different customers coming from various business fields. Alexis has always been like this. After graduating as a computer engineer, he decided to take a sabbatical year to travel the world, from Nepal to Argentina, India to Senegal, opening his mind to different cultures whilst feeding his passion for trekking. When he came back to France, it was a hard time to find a job as an engineer, but instead of sitting back on his laurels, he took a job as a sales person for a start-up. Then, after two years, he became a sales engineer and eagerly took the opportunity to live in England for a few years. At Scality, where he has been for almost two years now, Alexis can easily satisfy his appetite for what’s new. Being very inquisitive and sociable, he loves getting to know his clients well, learning from them and sharing his expertise with them. Alexis likes to be in close proximity to his co-workers too. “I couldn’t work from home. I need to be with my colleagues, feed from their energy and then give it back to them,” he says. One of his colleagues adds, “Alexis is always ready to give a hand and always asks you for your opinion. He is really interested in people and loves having conversations with them, even with those whom he is not working with on a day to day basis.”Alexis is very focused on his job and always goes the extra mile, but he never takes himself too seriously. Always smiley, he is often the first to have a laugh with his colleagues, and when they all have a party together, the first one to liven things up. Outside the office too, Alexis likes the company of other people. When he was into rugby, a sport he played for 15 years, he really enjoyed being part of a team and sharing everything. The sport also suits his competitive nature. “There is nothing like the intensity of winning a match with a team, or making a deal for your company,” he confides. Behind Alexis’ energy hides a really calm personality too. His other great passion is rock climbing, a sport in which he loves learning the art of patience, concentration and mental strength. He also enjoys walking in the mountains with his friends or his family. “You can take your time, get to know people very deeply and appreciate the simplest of things such as drinking from a stream,” he reveals. However, Alexis doesn’t stay in one place too long. He is planing to take another world tour in the future, but this time to share the experience with his wife and their three children. He is also seriously thinking of going back to being a salesman, to encounter new challenges, once again. Decidedly for Alexis, there is never just another day at the office.
