15 RTL Interactive, a subsidiary of RTL Group (a division of Bertelsmann), has deployed Scality’s software-defined enterprise class storage solution for its video-on-demand (VoD) offering. RTL Interactive, is a market-leader in providing video on demand for the German market, providing 1.2 billion video views annually. RTL’s growing subscriber base, coupled with the growth of new forms of media consumption using RTL’s NOW application for iPhone and Android, led to massive growth of its storage requirements. To ensure continued customer satisfaction, RTL Interactive needed to scale beyond traditional storage solutions.
