16 We are humbled and grateful to announce that Scality was named a winner of the Trophées des Futures Licornes, a French awards program recognizing companies anticipated to be valued at over 1 billion euros in the next five years. This accolade names Scality as a “future unicorn,” a testament to the company’s continued growth trajectory. These awards are a big deal and a huge vouch of confidence in the work we are doing. We’re honored to be selected and join the ranks of a distinguished group of winners, including Mirakl, an ecommerce solution now valued at a whopping USD $3.5 billion. Scality CEO Jérôme Lecat accepted the award in a ceremony in Paris, where he was asked: What does a unicorn represent to you?What is your ambition now?Who are you going to share this trophy with? “This success is truly the work of the entire FrenchTech ecosystem: it wouldn’t have been possible without the team spirit that drives it,” Jérôme remarked. With headquarters in both the U.S. and France, Scality is dedicated to serving its global customers in 47 countries. Recognizing the next big names in French tech First held in 2018, the Trophees de Futures Licornes identifies those French companies expected to be the unicorns of the future – those most likely to be valued over one billion Euros in the next five years. Companies must be headquartered in France, under 15 years old, have raised at least 5 million euros since founding, be independent and must be focused in one of five sectors: biotech and medical tech, ecommerce and services, green tech and mobility, Industry 4.0, or big data. Prior winners include Mirakl, Neoen, and Talentsoft, among others. The award’s first grand prix winner, Doctolib, officially reached unicorn status in 2019, closing a funding round of 150 million euros.Winners were evaluated by an esteemed panel of jurors from across the business, political and tech sectors.
